Adam started his career at The Sydney Morning Herald as a Photographer in 1997. He then moved to Allsport (now Getty Images) at the end of 1998 and has worked from the LA office as well as Sydney and is now based in Beijing. He has Photographed 4 Olympic Games and has contributed to magazines including Sports Illustrated, Life and Time Magazine.

He has been recognized with a number of international awards including: World Press Photo - 1st Place Sports Feature Singles 2005, 2nd Place Sports Stories/Portfolio 2004 and 1st Place Sports Stories/Portfolio 2000 SSF World Sports Photo Contest - Special Photographers Award 2004 Pictures of the Year International - 1st Place Olympics Sports Picture 2004, 1st Place Sports Portfolio 2000, 1st Place Sports Action Picture 1999, 1st Place Sports Portfolio 1999 Walkley Award - Press Photographer of the Year 2004, 1st Place Photo Essay 2004 Concours du Photographe de l’Annee - 1st Place Sports Picture 2000.
