Jeremy Sutton Hibbert
1969, man set foot on the moon and Mrs. Sutton-Hibbert gave birth to Jeremy in Scotland, where he grew up and on his 13th birthday received the gift of a camera. A few years later Jeremy subsequently became a UK based freelance photographer for editorial, corporate and NGO clients for 14 years, until deciding the light was too grey and the winters too dark.
Deciding to bring colour into his life he has relocated to Tokyo, Japan, where he now lives and photographs for an international clientele. His work has appeared in magazines such as National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, The New York Times Magazine, Italian Geo, Le Figaro, and The Guardian amongst many others, and for many years has been a regular photographer for Greenpeace International. Jeremy has also worked as stills photographer on film sets, including the award winning movies ‘Touching The Void’, and Asif Kapadia’s ‘The Warrior’.
In recent years Jeremy’s commissioned and personal work has taken him to over 40 countries, as far flung as Antarctica, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, India, and Outer Mongolia, as well as many ship-based assignments in the South Atlantic, North Sea, and Southern Ocean.
His personal and commissioned work, for which he has been the recipient of photojournalism awards, has been widely published and exhibited in Europe and USA.
